health careers discovery night

Ideas - Questions for Guests

Whatever you are thinking, don’t be shy to ask!

But if you aren’t sure what to ask, here are some questions you might consider for our guests:

  • What health-related undergraduate programs does your school offer?

  • I’m not sure about graduate school - what are some good health-related degrees/careers with a bachelor’s degree in your field?

  • What makes your school a good place to attend? What is it especially good at?

  • Are there summer exposure or research experiences at your school, including for community college students?

  • Are there scholarships available that are specific to your school, and how do I apply for them?

  • To ask current graduate students: What work/volunteering/interning have you done? How did you choose your graduate school? How did you handle applications and tests for graduate school? How are you paying for graduate school? If you attended community college, was that a good experience?

  • To ask faculty: What advice do you have for college freshman or transfer students? What would I actually be doing in “undergraduate research”? Can I get paid for research or an internship? How do I find a professor to do research with?

  • What kind of students is your school looking for? What should I think about as I apply?

  • To ask LBCC Transfer or Career Centers: I’m taking classes at LBCC, what should I do next?!

  • If I have more questions about ____ school/degree/career at your school, who should I contact?
